Transferring Out of NB

This section outlines the steps to follow when transferring out of NB, either to another Canadian province or outside of Canada.

To attain and maintain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New Brunswick specific criteria must be met.

For initial licensure, applicants must successfully complete an approved practical nursing program and successfully pass the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE).

For annual renewal of licensure, LPNs must ensure they have maintained a minimum of 1000 active practice hours over the 5 most recent years as well as participate in the annual Continuing Competence Program.
