The Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses (ANBLPN) regulates Licensed Practical Nurses in the Province of New Brunswick. Its authority comes from the Licensed Practical Nurses Act, R.S.N.B. The ANBLPN through its regulation process collects personal information from its membership; ANBLPN is committed to protecting this personal information.

The personal information collected by ANBLPN includes but is not limited to: demographic information, contact information, educational information, employment information, continuing competency information and other information needed to asses qualifications for registration as an LPN in the province of New Brunswick.

The ANBLPN's management and protection of this personal information provided by its membership will be in accordance with the Federal Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act and the Licensed Practical Nurse Act. ANBLPN uses a members personal information in order to perform and fulfill their duties and functions to regulate licensed practical nurses in New Brunswick, examples of use by the ANBLPN with respect to a members personal information includes but is not limited to:

  • assessing an applicant credentials,
  • maintaining the ANBLPN registers,
  • facilitating payment of fees,
  • investigating complaints and conduct issues,
  • communicating with members about their registration and professional obligations, and
  • providing members with information to support their professional development and practice.

ANBLPN is committed to creating a culture that respects and protects its membership's personal information. When an employee, board or committee member is granted access to a members personal information it will only be in a context by which it is required to carry out their duties.

The ANBLPN takes steps to protect the personal information collected of its membership. This is done through the use of physical, technical, and administrative safeguards, such as passwords and confidentiality agreements.
