Standards of Practice

This document overviews a minimum level of practice acceptable for Licensed Practical Nurses, against which actual practice can be compared. Levels of practice below these standards are not acceptable to the practical nurses profession. The standards are designed to ensure that a Licensed Practical Nurse provides safe, reasonable and prudent nursing care, within his/her scope of practice.
